The saunas are crafted in Pielavesi by the log craftsman Jaakko Holma. The log saunas are located on the rooftop of VALO, providing a beautiful view of the Ruskeasuo allotment garden. The log saunas on the roof terrace are carved by hand with Pielaveti. Log carver Jaakko Holma also carved poems and thoughts on the walls, which you can enjoy while relaxing on vacation. From the panoramic windows you can admire the beautiful Ruskeasuo plantation garden and the scenery of Helsinki.
Between saunas, it’s nice to take a dip in the cold pool or relax in the jacuzzi. Inside, there is also a larger relaxation pool, a steam sauna, a small fireplace lounge and a pool bar.
VALO’s own restaurant, Bistro ELO, serves wonderful summer dishes. The menu includes delicious fish dishes, the best vegetables of the season, and domestic organic & local food. The taste is guaranteed by ELO’s own charcoal grill.

From VALO, you can easily reach most of Helsinki’s most famous attractions. The most popular attractions include Suomenlinna, Helsinki Cathedral, Temppeliaukio Church, Kiasma, Ateneum, and Kauppatori.
In Helsinki, it’s nice to spend a relaxed summer day lounging on the beaches, at Linnanmäki amusement park, or Korkeasaari Zoo. Nature is also close in Helsinki, with several lush gardens, such as the over 10-kilometre-long forested green area of Helsinki Central Park, right next to VALO. The city’s seafront and nearby islands are easily accessible by ferry connections!
Getting around Helsinki by cycling or walking is easy, as the distances are relatively short. In addition, the Helsinki Region Transport (HSL) public transportation is very user-friendly and smooth, as all public transport can be used through the HSL application.
