Memorable seminar for assistants
TomistoSissit is a private network of office workers, secretaries and assistants, where professional knowledge is shared through events and network channels. This fall, ToimistoSissit will organize an experiential seminar related to developing professional skills, “You – the top assistant of the future”, at VALO Hotel & Work, on the 27 of October.
This seminar is an event that boosts assistants’ professional identity, and self-esteem, brings courage and perspectives, and brings together assistants from all over Finland!
The versatility of the facilities was attractive
We interviewed the network’s coordinator Taija Uusikumpu and asked why they ended up arranging their event at VALO.
“We started looking for an event facility in our partner network, where we searched for spaces that ToimistoSissit members had recommended and had good experiences on. At VALO, we were interested in the variety and uniqueness of the spaces and the convertibility of hotel rooms into work rooms.”
Since ToimistoSissit has members all over Finland, they wanted to plan an event that would attract participants from a further distance away.
“We have members all over Finland, and we wanted to arrange an event that would be attractive to our members from further away. We have included a package where the event is continued the next day with a working day at VALO”, Uusikumpu describes.
The event held in October will be something that aims to be as memorable as possible.
“This is a professional seminar that deviates from our usual formula. We have planned some surprises and are investing heavily in the experiential side of the event. After the event, there will be after parties, where the participants get to unpack the ideas raised by the seminar. After this, there will be additional after parties held in VALO’s wonderful wellness area. This is how we build an essential sense of community in the ToimistoSissit network and keep the atmosphere high until the end of the evening.”
Uusikumpu is happy that they were able to find everything that they needed for the planning of the event in the same place.
“All that we need can be found at VALO, under the same roof. We wanted to produce this seminar as a hybrid event and offer the opportunity to participate online. At In VALO, you can find a cost-effective studio behind your back and a good partner for the most experiential studio broadcasts.”
The collaboration benefits both parties
This is not the first time that Toimistosissit and VALO are collaborating. VALO opened two years ago, in September 2020, when ToimistoSissit visited to test the facilities and services.
“We had collaborated with VALO since the beginning, even before the hotel opened. VALO wanted to ensure that their new hotel could answer their business customers’ needs. A research team made up of members of ToimistoSissit who book hotel and meeting services regularly was ordered to test VALO’s service path in its entirety, and the services were still finalized together. This is how we ensured the facilities and services would work. This is also why we are certain that our event, planned together with VALO, will be a great success.”
