VALO Work’s workspaces have been designed to support various work tasks in the best possible way. VTT investigated VALO’s work environment through measurements and tests. VALO measured, e.g. the noise levels of the premises, the turnover of the workspaces and the air quality in the different workspaces.
“By playing the trumpet in different rooms, we tested how loud activity affects the noise level of nearby spaces. The test confirmed our assumption that VALO Hotel & Work’s premises have excellent sound insulation. We already knew that the interaction of temperature, carbon dioxide level and air humidity is crucial for work efficiency. If even one of them is slightly out of the reference range, people get tired, and concentration quickly falters. A carbon dioxide level suitable for a certain temperature makes the air feel stuffy at another temperature,” says VTT’s specialist researcher Jouni Kaartinen.
At the end of the tests, measurements and analysis, the pleasantness and productivity of the workspaces were increased by adapting building automation and spaces to meet the needs of different users as uncompromisingly as possible. The lighting and temperature of VALO’s workrooms can be adjusted according to the employee’s needs.
