The Nordic Business Forum (NBF) is an annual two-day business conference held in Helsinki that originated in Jyväskylä. After a three-year hiatus, the event will return to the Helsingin Messukeskus in 2022.
Since 2010, the Nordic Business Forum The conference event has become known for its yearly changing themes as well as very well-known speakers. These names include President Barack Obama, former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, National Vice President Al Gore, British billionaire Sir Richard Branson, and General Electric CEO Jack Welch.
The event that started in Jyväskylä has since moved to Helsinki and has also spread to other Nordic countries. In 2017, the Nordic Business Forum was organized for the first time in Sweden, and the following year the event also expanded to Norway.
More than 7,500 travelers from more than 40 different countries participated in the conference organized in Helsinki in 2018. Almost a quarter of the participants were managing directors.
Challengers from outside the Nordic countries of the Nordic Business Forum, which has become a major event, are C2 Montréal in Montreal, Leadercast in Atlanta, and the main event of the World Business Forum in New York. However, measured by the number of participants, the Nordic Business Forum is the largest single business conference event.
The Nordic Business Forum has also collected numerous national and international recognitions. In 2011, the event was chosen as the central Finnish marketing act of the year, and in 2016, it was awarded as the best business event at the event marketing industry’s Evento Awards gala.
The 2022 Nordic Business Forum will take place on September 20–21. Once again, there is a really compact and interesting program focused on business life, which consists of presentations by interesting speakers and networking with other attendees.
This year’s Nordic Business Forum theme is Future-Focused Leadership.
The event’s main performer is author Yuval Noah Harari (Sapiens, Homo Deus), whose lecture, The Most Important Skills for the Future of Work, will be heard on Wednesday, September 21 at 12:30 p.m. Author Rutger Bregman (The History of Good, Free Money for All), professors Amy Edmondson (Harvard Business School) and Erin Meyer (INSEAD), entrepreneur Petter Stordalen (Nordic Choice Hotels), and organizational anthropologist Jitske Kramer are among the speakers.
