On the second weekend of May, May 8, 2022, Mother’s Day is celebrated in Finland for the 105th time. With the long-term celebration, many popular Mother’s Day traditions have also emerged in Finland, one of which is Mother’s Day lunch, the purpose of which is, of course, to pamper mothers in the middle of a busy everyday life. Mother’s Day lunch can be eaten in a restaurant with the whole family or, alternatively, only with adults in the family.

For many restaurants in Helsinki, Mother’s Day is one of the most important holidays, and many of them offer a special menu for Mother’s Day, which usually includes at least layer cake with coffee in addition to the normal menu.
The Mother’s Day menu is also available at Bistro ELO in Ruskeasuo, Helsinki.
